Andrea Scianna received the qualification as Associate Professor for the competition sector 08/A4 – Geomatics from 02/08/2017. He has been a Professor of Computer Science, teaching Geomatics, Assisted Building Design and II-level Master courses at the University of Palermo from 2003 to 2018.
He has been the reviewer of several national and international journals (Sifet, Springer, MDPI, Wiley), is a member of the scientific committees of SIFET and ASITA from 2015 to 2018 and co-founder of GFOSS (Palermo – 2007)Italian Chapter of OsGeo and member of the Scientific Committee until 2015. He is also the founder and manager of GISLAB (https://geomatica.icar.cnr.it/)
He conducts Geomatics research activities (GIS, 3D WEBGIS, Numerical Cartography, GPS-GIS Applications, Navigation tools based on GNSS systems, Geomatics applications for cultural heritage, Rapid prototyping, Geomatics for improving accessibility to BB.CC.
He was responsible for ICAR-CNR of several national and European projects.
