An interactive system for projecting two-dimensional images in such a way as to generate an illusion of three-dimensionality. The hologram can be observed from three different points of view. Although it cannot be considered a holographic system in the strict sense, this installation makes it possible to control the digital images to be projected to vary them dynamically and respond to the observer’s actions. The system in question reproduces “Apollo’s head of the Omphalos”, which can be observed simultaneously from three different points of view. In addition, the user can rotate and zoom in, to appreciate the details, by using gestures. The system was installed in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples (MANN), from 27 July to 10 November 2016.
